10 of the Best Quotes by Enid Blyton

Enid Blyton is one of those names which appears in our minds whenever we think of mystery novels and stories which we had read as kids during our school days. One characteristic of the writing that I always loved in Enid Blyton’s books is the elaborate description of food. Well that is not why I thought of compiling some of the best quotes by Enid Blyton.
It struck me that most  bibliophiles must have spent a better part of their childhood reading ‘The Famous Five’, ‘The Secret Seven’ and other such mystery novels by Enid Blyton. It would be worthwhile to read a few of Enid Blyton’s quotes from her books.

“Hatred is so much easier to win than love - and so much harder to get rid of.”

“I think people make their own faces, as they grow.”

“It wasn't a bit of good fighting grown-ups. They could do exactly as they liked.”

“There's a rainbow around every corner is a well known saying and is supposed to make negative people positive.”

“Well, you know what grown-ups are. They don't think the same way as we do. I expect when we grow up, we shall think like them - but let's hope we remember what it was like to think in the way children do, and understand the boys and the girls that are growing up when we're men and women.”

“Nothing like having a bucket of cold water flung over you to make you see things as they really are!”

“I'm good at exploring roofs. You never know when that kind of thing comes in useful.”

“Oh, I wish I lived in a caravan! How lovely it must be to live in a house that has wheels and can go away down the lanes and through the towns, and stand still in fields at night!”

"Only the strongest people have the pluck to change their minds, and say so, if they see they have been wrong in their ideas.”

“The point is not that I don't recognise bad people when I see them — I grant you I may quite well be taken in by them — the point is that I know a good person when I see one.”

Enid Blyton’s stories took us into a world of adventure while sitting at the comfort of our homes. Just 10 quotes from this great author’s novels is not justifiable. But, then just reading the quotes are also not enough, one should have read her mystery stories.
